MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian embassy in the U.S. has received a notification from the presidential administration that no new sanctions are to be introduced in the near future, a Foreign Ministry source told reporters on Wednesday.
“I confirm that the Russian embassy has been notified that there will be no sanctions in the near future,” the official said.
U.S. Department of State spokeswoman Heather Nauert said on Tuesday that Washington is still considering new anti-Russian sanctions.
On Monday, the Washington Post reported that Trump postponed a preliminary plan to impose additional sanctions on Russia, retracting an April 15 announcement by U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley.
